12th October 2009 - is the date when individuals will have to start registering with the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) if they wish to work with children and/or Vulnerable Adults.
The ISA will assess individual applicants and will be in a position to bar a person from working with children and/or Vulnerable Adults if a risk is considered likely. Details of how this service will exactly operate are not yet fully known — however, it has been made clear that this is a service which will complement CRB Disclosures and not replace them.
It is envisaged that individuals will have to register with the ISA through the CRB via the services CRB-registered bodies such as The Vetting Company. Please follow this link for more information.
January 2008 – The CRB and The Vetting Company have both announced their charges will remain unchanged for the second year running.
1st January 2007 – Security Screening of individuals conducted to the recommendations set out in British Standard 7858:2006 will now include Previous Conviction and Personal Finance checks. The Vetting Company are registered with the CRB and Equifax enabling us to conduct these extra checks.
